A large black cloud of smoke billowed over homes on Shining Ore Drive in Brentwood this morning after a trash collection truck caught fire.

Brentwood police say the incident was reported Wednesday at 9:02 a.m. Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh said police aren’t sure what caused the fire at this time. The truck, he said, was a “total loss.”

There were no resulting injuries from the incident.

One resident said an “explosion” was heard at 9:08 a.m., and took a short video recording of the incident.

Shining Ore Drive is off of Copperstone Court from Sunset Road. It is roughly two miles from Brentwood Fire Station 4.
