Regional health care consulting and accounting firm PYA has added a veteran health IT executive as a principal in its Brentwood office.
Merle Glasgow comes to PYA — which is headquartered in Knoxville and has offices in Atlanta, Kansas City and Tampa — focused primarily on new business development. He had been a principal at Franklin private equity firm Wheelhouse Capital Partners since the spring of 2013 and before that was vice president of sales and marketing at business services firm ARx Healthcare. He will report to PYA Chief Business Development Officer Jeff Pate.
“As we continue to grow in the Middle Tennessee market, Merle’s knowledge of the business community, entrepreneurial start-ups, and the players involved will add another level of depth in one of the hottest markets in the nation,” said Shannon Sumner, PYA’s local managing principal and chief compliance officer.
Glasgow has more than two decades of experience in sales, marketing, strategic partnerships, corporate training and investor strategies and relations. During his time at Wheelhouse, which is led by former Spheris CEO Steve Simpson, he served as chief sales officer at RevPoint Healthcare Technologies, which began life as nTelagent and was acquired by a Jacksonville-based company.
Founded in 1983, PYA now employs more than 300 people.
