Historian Thelma Battle’s latest photo exhibit to be featured at library event

thelmaThe Williamson County Public Library’s main branch in Franklin will host “An Afternoon with Thelma” gathering Sunday, Feb. 10, from 2-4 p.m. in the Special Collections department of the library.

Thelma Battle, longtime historian who specializes in collecting photographs, newspaper articles, letters and other items related to African-American history, will be presenting her latest photographic exhibit.

Known for her meticulous research practice and her insistence that historical facts are accurate, Battle helps in tracing the Pioneer Family that is presented every year at the Black Tie Affair hosted by the African-American Heritage Society of Williamson County.

Light refreshments will be served at Sunday’s event, and the public is invited.
