Judge Andre attends National Institute on Domestic Violence training conference

General Sessions Court Judge Denise Andre recently attended the “Enhancing Judicial Skills in Domestic Violence Cases” conference in Providence, Rhode Island which was sponsored by the National Judicial Institute on Domestic Violence.

Judge Andre, who received a scholarship to attend, was one of approximately 48 judges from across the United States to attend the 4 day workshop.

“I was tremendously honored to receive this scholarship and to join other judges from around the country in addressing the various dynamics of judicial fact-finding in domestic violence cases. I truly enjoy my service to this community as a General Sessions Judge and my involvement in advancing professionalism in the judiciary.”

Judge Andre was first elected to the bench in 2006 and re-elected in 2014 to serve as Williamson County General Sessions Judge for Division 1.  In addition to her criminal and civil dockets, Andre is the founder and presiding judge of the General Sessions DUI Court and currently serves as the president of the Tennessee General Sessions Judges’ Conference.

Andre is a  member of the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin Lions Club, the Heritage Foundation, the Williamson County Historical Society, and is a graduate of  Leadership Franklin (2016-17).
