At Thursday’s City Commission morning informational meeting, Brentwood City Manager Kirk Bednar asked the seven-member board who would like to be listed on the ballot for mayor and vice mayor.
Commissioners Rhea Little, current Vice Mayor Mark Gorman and Regina Smithson all said they would like to be listed on the ballot. Recently re-elected Commissioner Ken Travis asked to be listed on the ballot for Vice Mayor.
The Board of Commissioners will vote on a new mayor and vice mayor at the next City Commission meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall Monday, May 13. This is also the meeting where Nelson Andrews, Anne Dunn, Susannah MacMillan and Ken Travis will be sworn in following their victories in the May 7 election.
Smithson has served on the Board of Commissioners since 1993. Since then, she has served two mayoral terms and has also held the title of vice mayor. Gorman has served on the board since 2013 and is serving his first term as vice mayor. Little has served on the board since 2009 and has served twice as vice mayor.
Bednar said the list of those who wish to be considered for these positions will be finalized for the ballot on Friday, May 10.
City Hall is located at 5211 Maryland Way in Brentwood, Tenn.
