Local gymnast, 11, sweeps regional competition, earns invitation to nationals in July

Taylor Stewart-Beavers, 11, qualified and competed in the USAG (United States of America Gymnastics) Regionals in Mobile, Alabama, and swept the event winning Gold Medals in all three events, Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini.

The tournament involved athletes from nine Southern states.

Taylor has qualified and been invited by the coach of the national team to compete in USAG Stars and Stripes Nationals in Boca Raton, Florida, July 20 and 21.

She is based at Let It Shine Gymnastics and the team, with her assistance also won 1st place overall in Double Mini. Her family has been involved in the  Let It Shine gymnastics program for 10 years.

Taylor is also the six time reigning Tennessee State Champion in Trampoline.

The fifth-grade home school student lives in Franklin.
