The Hot Shots, a competitive performance jump rope team from Tennessee, returns from competing in the 2015 US National Jump Rope Championship with 13 jumpers placing top 10 in their respective events.
The Hot Shots, a competitive performance jump rope team from Tennessee, returned from competing in the 2015 US National Jump Rope Championship with 13 jumpers placing top 10 in their respective events.
Between June 29 and July 2, 678 jumpers from 23 states competed in the Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
The 17 Hot Shots members competed in multiple events, including single rope speed, single rope double unders, double dutch speed, single rope freestyle, pairs freestyle and double dutch freestyle.
Hannah Walling won a silver medal for her single rope freestyle, while Sydney Harris and Grace Sparks also took home silver for their pairs freestyle event. Walling, Sparks and Anna Lapre won silver for their double dutch freestyle, and were also selected to perform their routine in the Grand National Championship event.
Just a few days later, William Pogue, a Williamson County student, competed in the Pan American Jump Rope Championship and Camp. Pogue brought home first place in three-minute speed, fifth in single-rope freestyle jumping and third in a 30-second speed jumping event.
The Hot Shots jump rope team is comprised of jumpers from Williamson County schools in grades 5-12 and are under the direction of Lisa Arnold.
