At Thursday night’s planning commission workshop with the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, several proposed developments will be brought forward for discussion.
Check out the plans below to see if any of these developments might affect you. The meeting begins at 5 p.m., with approximately 20 minutes allotted to discussion of each proposal.
The Gatherings at Mallory Station
At 200 Mallory Station Road, east of Franklin Road and north of Mack Hatcher Parkway, developers are proposing a multifamily residential community.
The plan is for 108 units on 6.22 acres between to Avenida Cool Springs and Morningside, with four 4-story buildings and a small park at the center.
Parish Presbyterian Church
Located just west of Wilson Pike at 4150 Clovercroft Road, Parish Presbyterian Church is seeking a development plan revision to add an 18,000 square-foot classroom building and a 7,400 square foot multi-use building to an adjacent 13.8 acres of property the church owns.
The commission has previously approved a two-story chapel at the site. The next step will be when the proposal is voted on by the planning commission on September 27.
Carothers Crossing West
Bordered by Liberty Pike to the south, Carothers Parkway to the east and I-65 to the west, this property is currently zoned for general commercial use.
Developers from Embrey and Franklin’s SouthStar are proposing 67,000 square feet of restaurant, bank, retail and office space, along with 338 multi-family residential and live-work units on the nearly 20-acre property.
In their presentation, developers will cite statistics about the influx of jobs in the area and the need for more housing.
Resort Lifestyle Communities on Murfreesboro Road
At 4114 Murfreesboro Road, Resort Lifestyle Communities is requesting a change to Envision Franklin from single-family residences to multi-family residences.
The building plan is for a three-story, 130 unit facility on 16 acres.
Because the property is located on a slope, about half the land would be kept as an open space and drainage area.
