This month, Ansbach Artisans Fine Art Gallery in Franklin celebrates its one-year anniversary with a special Saturday Night Live Art (SNL Art) event.
May’s featured artists Sharon Rusch Shaver, Roy Laws, Frank Baggett and Pam Francis will be painting live in the gallery during the event. Visitors can also watch Jim Ballard woodturning and enjoy the smooth sounds of Mel Deal’s jazz guitar.
“This month is very special as it marks one year since we first opened,” said Ansbach Artisans owner Michael Phillips. “We welcome the community to come celebrate with us at this one-of-a-kind event!”
This month’s SNL Art takes place on Saturday, May 28 and will open with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Chamber of Commerce at 5 p.m.
SNL Art is family friendly and open to the public. Anyone may come by between 5 and 9 p.m. to watch and talk with the artists as they work live in the gallery. Visitors can mix and mingle with other guests, view and purchase works by the artists, and enjoy light refreshments.
Michael Phillips opened Ansbach Artisans in May 2015 at 1974 Wilson Pike in Franklin. The former site of Jamison Market is now the home of a wonderful art gallery which features only original works by Middle Tennessee artists. The gallery is named for the City of Ansbach, Germany where Phillips served in the Army as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot.
SNL Art is on the final Saturday of each month and is open to visitors of all ages. Press is also welcome to attend. The next event takes place on May 28 from 5-9 p.m. Details of the event can be found on the gallery website, AnsbachArtisans.com.
