A new club at Brentwood High School is collecting school supplies for other schools in the Nashville area.

Several weeks ago the Donations Club gave dozens of bags of school supplies to Haywood Elementary School, a school between Nolensville Road and I-24, and north of Haywood Lane in Nashville.

Brentwood High Sophomore Sunya Aghili is the president of the club. She said that she started the club because she wanted all students to have a good place to learn.

“I feel like Brentwood High School is a really good place to learn and I’m so grateful for all the supplies and all the teachers and everything that we have there,” she said. “A lot of schools don’t have the budget for that stuff because they have to worry about other things.”

The club put out a donations box and asked students to donate during school announcements. Aghili said her club was able to collect 50 bags of supplies for Haywood Elementary.

Aghili started the club this semester and this is their first round of donations.
