Heroes Next Door, a non-profit that helps community heroes purchase a home through a grants program, just closed the group’s first transaction in Franklin.
Rodney Manning is the hero/home buyer. He qualified for the program as a military veteran and used a VA loan with zero down payment to purchase a home in Spring Hill.
He received a $3,000 Grant from Heroes Next Door and he received $2,000 in lender credit from American Nationwide Mortgage as a part of the Heroes Next Door Program. He also received a $200 discount on fees from Magnolia Title as part of the program.
The Hero Affiliates for the area are Katherine Faulkenberg from Benchmark Realty, Tim Dial from American Nationwide Mortgage, and Megan Menke from Magnolia Title.
Manning and his wife, Kristi, closed on the home May 30, and he only had to bring $2,041 to closing due to the grant, lender’s credit, and other discounts.
Although Mr. Manning was approved through the program due to being a U.S. Veteran, he also works for Provision Healthcare, which is a proton cancer treatment company and he would have also qualified for the Heroes Next Door program as a healthcare professional.
Other eligible grantees are those in active military, law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, emergency management, education, ministry, or nonprofit/charity.
Heroes Next Door is a 501c3 non-profit public benefit organization. It is predominately run by volunteers, allowing the agency to give 100% of donations back to our Heroes as grants.
