Mary Evelyn Davenport died on Sept. 7, 2018. She was age 99.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A private family service and burial will follow in Medina, Tenn.
Surviving are her son, James D. (Betty) Davenport; a daughter, Rosemary (Tom) Blose; granddaughters, Julie (Chuck) Davis and Donna (Robert) Hilliard; grandsons, Russ (Lynn) Blose and Chris (Marianne) Blose; and great-grandchildren, Ben Davis, Jonathan Davis, Jackson Blose, Marianna Blose, Garrison Blose, Gabby Hilliard and Sam Hilliard.
Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her parents, E.E. and Birdie Mason; her husband of 72 years, James Henry Davenport; four sisters, Ruby (Doc) Studards, Lorene (Clarence), Murphy, Jenny (Fred) McCord, and Linda (Bob) Dawson; and her brother, Bobby Joe Mason.
She graduated and played basketball at Fairview High School and was active in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Jackson, TN, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Davenport worked as secretary of the Postal Employees Credit Union in Jackson. After moving to Nashville in 1994, the Davenports also became active in Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Brentwood, TN.
