A little rain couldn’t stop the Nolensville Buttercup Festival from celebrating its twentieth year this Saturday. Parents brought their children out in weather resistant clothing to see several tents filled with artisans and vendors lining the Historic District, performances with live music and a chance to meet some of the town’s first responders.

Nolensville Road remained open, and Nolensville Police officers directed traffic to allow pedestrians across.

The festival first began as a desire to bring awareness to the Historic District Merchants.

“Nolensville was really small 20 years ago,” Sutmiller said during an interview with Home Page in March. “[The festival] just tried to get people out to the Nolensville area and realize what was there.”

The Nolensville downtown local merchants who ran sales and specials during the day include: The Painted Dragonfly, The Peacock Lane, Three French Hens, The Feed Mill-Amish Goods, The Village Antiques, Shabby Lane, Pick-it Fence Junktique, Nolensville Toy Shop, Glitz by Rae, E&B Coffee Roasters, Tanner House, Nolensville Auto Care, Homeplace Bed and Breakfast, Southern Hospitality Diner, First United Methodist Church of Nolensville, and Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
