Police identify suspect accused of snatching $80,000 in jewelry at mall store

FRANKLIN POLICE DEPARTMENT

A young Smithville man who is accused of snatching $80,000 in jewelry from a shop in the CoolSprings Galleria mall has been identified and is now considered a fugitive, according to the Franklin Police Department.

Jario Godinez, 18, of Smithville is accused of being the suspect captured on surveillance cameras at about 4:45 last Friday afternoon, snatching a display tray of about a dozen tennis bracelets from the hands of a salesperson in Grogan Jewelers. The bracelets are worth more than $80,000.

According to Franklin Police, Godinez knows that he is wanted, and police now consider him a fugitive. A Crime Stoppers cash reward is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to Godinez’s capture.
