R.B.’s Cyclery to host informational event for European cycling tours

If bicycling through England’s small country lanes has ever been your dream, Brentwood’s R.B.’s Cyclery is hosting an informational meeting tonight that you won’t want to miss.

At 6 p.m., Andy Brown from Huntsville-based Country Lanes Cycle Tours will give a presentation on an upcoming summer cycling trip to southeast England complete with video and photos from previous excursions.

Jay Williams, co-owner of R.B.’s Cyclery, says the bicycling community is not large, so it wasn’t hard for Brown to link up with the Brentwood shop.

“We’re always down to help people who can promote cycling and give people some cool experiences on a bicycle,” Williams said.

The European bicycling vacation has two open tours, June 8-15 and June 22-29. According to the event’s Facebook page, the tours will feature scenery like white cliffs overlooking the English channel and historical sites like Henry the VIII’s “favorite castle” and the Canterbury Cathedral.

Beer and pizza will be provided at the presentation, and Williams said the event is free and open to anyone.

“Anybody who wants to come and learn about it, or just eat pizza, come on over,” Williams said.

R.B.’s Cyclery is located at 99 Seaboard Lane, Ste 1000 in Brentwood.
