Another of Ravenwood’s many talented football players has found a home for the next level.
Ravenwood defensive lineman Luke Shouse announced his commitment to Ole Miss for fall 2020 this week.
“I would like to start off by thanking God for affording me the opportunities I have today,” he shared on Twitter. “I also want to thank my Mom, family, friends and coaches for helping me get to where I am today.
“Playing college football has been a dream of mine since I can remember, so with that being said, I’m extremely excited to announce that I am committed to Ole Miss!”
A three-star prospect, Shouse was receiving looks to play on both sides of the line at edge and offensive tackle.
24/7 Sports shows that he also had offers from Louisville, Army, Kansas, Cincinnati, Ball State and Liberty, among others.
Ravenwood’s defensive line is one of the most talented in the state, with Shouse joined by Reggie Grimes II, the state’s top football prospect with multiple SEC offers in tow, and Bryan Rice, the county’s 2018 defensive player of the year who has offers from Bethel and Shorter.
SB Nation’s Ole Miss blog Red Cup Rebellion said that they feel the Raptor is a sound addition to the team’s recruiting class.
“He’s a long and rangy end who uses his arms exceptionally well when fending off blockers and finding the ball carrier,” the site’s Zach Berry wrote.
“He will most likely need one year in the weight room but that frame can definitely fill out and be a nice addition to Mike MacIntyre’s 3-4 defense. He’s also spent some time at tight end in high school and with that size, he could also be molded into an offensive lineman.”
Before heading down to Oxford, Shouse will return to Ravenwood for his senior season this fall.
