A Raptor football player has chosen to turn into an Owl for their collegiate career.
Ravenwood wide receiver Andrew Mason announced Tuesday his intent to play for Rice University in Houston, Tx.
“First off, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play college football,” Mason shared in his Tweet. “I would also like to thank all of my family, friends and coaches that have supported me through this process. After a great visit, I am happy to announce I am committed to Rice University!”
The three-star prospect had offers on the table from Army, Yale, Georgetown, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky, among others, per 24/7 Sports, before settling on the Lone Star State.
The rising senior was a key cog in Ravenwood’s offense in 2018 and will return alongside quarterback Brian Garcia and running back Tony Rice.
He’ll head off to Rice in the fall of 2020.
