Could you use some help planning for retirement? Or maybe you just need a place to destress from the kids for an hour. Whatever the case may be, the John P. Holt Brentwood Library is full of activities for the whole family. Take a look between the stacks at another week of library programs. 

Featured Program of the Week

Financial Workshop – Wednesday

Noon — 8,000 Days of Retirement: How would you like to spend them?

This is a free program, and registration is required.

Monday

Revive Restorative Yoga

11 a.m. — The mission of this class is to provide a compassionate, supportive environment where healing can occur on all levels through gentle yoga and meditation flow practices.

The fee for this program is $5, and registration is required.

Tuesday

Flow into Joy Yoga

10:15 a.m. — Join as for a mixed level gentle flow yoga class where we will explore all the elements of a yoga practice – breath, positive affirmations, poses, meditation and relaxation.

The fee for this program is $5, and registration is required.

NHECM – Natural History Educational Co.

1 p.m. — Find out how an eagle owl, raccoon and other animals would fare in space based on biological traits and potential adaptations for new alien life forms.

This is a free program, and no registration is required.

Wednesday

Space Academy Story Time

10 a.m. — A story and activity program for children in grades Kindergarten through second grade. Participants will explore the universe around them through stories, music and other activities.

This is a free program, and registration is required.

Thursday

Reach for the Stars

10 a.m. — Explore the universe with music and movement during this class. Learn new songs, play along with instruments and move your body as you expand your minds. Parents are encouraged to join the fun. Register in person or by calling (615) 371-0090, ages toddlers to 3 years old. Ages 4-6 will be at 10:30 a.m.

This is a free program, and registration is required.

Steve Pennington – Variety Show

1 p.m. — Steve Pennington combines comedy, magic, music, and puppetry to entertain children.

This is a free program, and no registration is required.

Friday

Feldenkrais

10:30 a.m. — For July, let’s take a month to pay attention to our eyes and how they affect our movement patterns and balance.

The class fee for this program is $10, and registration is required.

Saturday

Cross Stitch and Talk

10 a.m. — Gather together with Ryann Make to stitch and talk about this awesome hobby. There will be a raffle at 1 p.m.

What to bring:

  • WIP(s) to work on.
  • Any stash you would like to donate to a future raffle
  • A snack to share (optional)
