ROUNDUP: Candidates, princesses, trivia and more this weekend in Brentwood


It looks like Brentwood is in for another weekend of rain, with showers Friday and thunderstorms and winds as high as 40 miles per hour on Saturday. By Sunday, however, the National Weather Service calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 63 degrees.

Despite inclement weather, there’s plenty to do in Brentwood this weekend. Here’s a look at a few happenings.

Friday Fish Fry

Where: Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Road, Brentwood, TN 37027

When: Friday, March 8: 6 p.m. — 8 p.m.

The Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus are bringing together the parish and community for a night of fish and fun, and the whole family is invited. The cost for adults is $10 and children ages 5-12 is $5, or a $30 family max. First responders eat free. Beer and wine will also be available for an extra donation.

Trivia and Tacos

Where: Currey Ingram Academy, 6544 Murray Ln, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027

When: Friday, March 8: 6 p.m. — 10 p.m.

Looking for a fun, casual evening that supports a cause? The Trivia and Tacos event features include appetizers, all the tacos you can eat, delicious desserts, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine and Mustang Margaritas, a silent and live auction and a professionally moderated trivia night. Brentwood Candidate Forum

Where: FiftyForward Martin Center, 960 Heritage Way, Brentwood, TN 37027

When: Saturday, March 9: 9 a.m. — 11 a.m.

The Williamson County Republican Party invites the public to the Brentwood City Commission Candidate Forum at the Martin Center. The event will be a chance to meet all the candidates at once and learn more about their vision for Brentwood.

A meet and greet will take place from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by a forum panel discussion moderated by David Fowler, president of FACT.

Coffee and light refreshments will be provided, and seating is limited. RSVPs to Debbie Deaver at are recommended.

College Search Seminar

Where: Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd, Brentwood, TN 37027

When: Sunday, March 10: 11:15 a.m. — 12:30 p.m.

For parents with kids thinking about college, helping them decide where to attend can be daunting. With so many options, how do you help them decide which is right?

Brentwood United Methodist Church’s student ministry invites you to attend a seminar on Sunday morning to learn a process for finding a school that fits your student’s personality, educational needs, and financial constraints while finding communities of faith.

This seminar is for both students and parents starting the college search.

Moments with a Princess — Ticketed Event

Where: Brilliant Sky Toys and Books, 1705 Mallory Ln, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027

When: Sunday, March 10: 1 p.m. — 2 p.m.

Brilliant Sky Toys and Books invites you to “be our guest” for its first Moments with a Princess event. Join Belle for a simple cooking lesson in how to make the “Grey Stuff.” The event will feature a special snack time, as well as a time for autographs and a photo session.

Limited room is available, for plenty of one-on-one time with Belle, so tickets are limited. The cost is $30 per child. Tickets are available online here.

Chamber of Knowledge Quarterly Meeting — Donation items needed

Where: John P. Holt Brentwood Library, 8109 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN 37027

When: Sunday, March 10: 3 p.m. — 4 p.m.

The Chamber of Knowledge will host its quarterly meeting Sunday afternoon, which will include a speaker from the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. The organization will also host elections for the position of Vice Prefect and Secretary.

The organization hopes attendees will bring some supplies for the Children’s Home.
