Brentwood-area high school teams thrived in 2017.
Brentwood Academy, Brentwood High and Ravenwood had teams repeat as state champions, while Christ Presbyterian Academy and Franklin Road Academy made a handful of state tournament appearances.

Brentwood volleyball, baseball girls tennis capture titles; Other BHS teams find success
Brentwood’s volleyball team defeated Ravenwood in five sets to win its fifth straight Class AAA state title.
Brentwood’s baseball team won its first Class AAA state championship with a 5-3 win against Stewarts Creek.
The football team closed its season with a 10-2 record after falling in the second round of the Class 6A tournament.
The Lady Bruins softball team took down Mt. Juliet to reach the Class AAA state tournament. It also won District 11-AAA and Region 6-AAA championships.

Ravenwood football takes new direction
In February, Ravenwood promoted Matt Daniels to be the third head football coach in three years for the program. In his first season at the helm, he led Ravenwood to a Region 6-6A title and Class 6A state quarterfinal appearance. In addition, the Raptors added a stunning victory over Brentwood to their resume.
Ravenwood’s girls cross country repeats, boys tennis finishes second
BA’s Garland chooses Vanderbilt basketball
BA point guard Darius Garland signed to play with Vanderbilt in November. He’s rated as a five-star prospect by multiple recruiting sites.
FRA basketball adds another runner-up finish
FRA’s boys basketball team finished second in Division II-A for the third time in four years.
CPA earns numerous state tournament appearances
CPA’s football team finished with a 10-3 record and a Division II-AA state semifinal appearance. fell in the Division II-AA semifinals.
