St. Patrick’s Day cookies, knitting and portfolio help offered at this week’s library classes

The John P. Holt Brentwood Library offers diverse classes each week. Want to learn yoga? How about a lesson in knitting, cookie decorating or investment success? The library has you covered. Here’s a look between the stacks at what you can learn this week.

Featured Program of the Week:

Thursday

St. Patrick’s Day Cookie Decorating

10 a.m. Sammie B. will lead participants in a hand’s-on cookie decorating tutorial. Each person will decorate 12 cookies. Using a projector set up, participants can watch as Sammie walks through the process. All participants will receive an ebooklet (by email) with her cookie recipe, icing recipe, and step-by-step instructions with pictures.

The fee for this class is $40 per person, and registration is required.

Monday

Core Flex & Resistance

10 a.m. — This specialty class allows individuals to train for improvements in everyday real-life activities.

Cost is $5 per session, and registration is required.

Tuesday

Knitting 101

1 p.m. — Learn about yarns and needles, how to cast on and do the knit and purl stitch, increases and decreases, read a pattern and make a simple dishcloth.

Cost is $5 per person, and registration is required.

Wednesday

Does Your Portfolio Suffer from S&P 500 Envy?

Noon — A look at portfolio construction and analysis.

1 p.m. — Emotions, Expectations, Economics: What concepts can impact your investing success?

This is a free program, and registration is required.

Thursday

Teen Advisory Board

4 p.m. — TAB is a group of 6th – 12th grade library members working together to make The John P. Holt Brentwood Library a better place for teens.

This is a free program, and no registration is required.

Friday

Lego Mania!

4:30 p.m. — Unleash your creativity! Join us for a fun filled afternoon of building your own designs.

Bring your imagination and we’ll provide the Legos®!

Library staff recommends this event for ages 5-12.

This is a free program, and registration is required.

Saturday

Saturday Story Time

10:30 a.m. — Join us for songs, a story, and a simple craft.

This is a free program.
