Kai Jones, daughter of Kenya Jones, is a sophomore at Brentwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of both the Girls Basketball Team and the Track & Field team and participates in Young Life.
One of her biggest passions is basketball. She said one of the reasons she loves it so much is because it helps her get rid of stress.
Her favorite class at BHS is math. “My teacher makes every activity and lesson entertaining and makes math enjoyable,” she said.
Jones’s Spanish teacher, Grace Radebaugh, said of her, “She has a great attitude… super helpful to other students in class, asks great questions… very determined… awesome student all around and an athlete!”
Jones said that one of her friends, Delaney Trushel, is her biggest role model and inspiration. “She always gives me the best advice and keeps me smiling every day,” she said. “Delaney helps me excel in every activity and class.”
When asked to describe herself in one word, Jones said, “I would describe myself as enthusiastic because I always have a smile on my face and keep everyone’s energy up throughout the day.”
After graduating from BHS, she plans to go to college to become a dermatologist.
