Jason Daniel, son of Robin and Letitia Calbreth, is a senior at Brentwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
He is a member of DECA and enjoys video editing and sound mixing. In 2018, he came in third place in the International Business Plan at SCOC. He is also a major coffee fan—notably Den Coffee Shop and Starbucks.
Daniel said that his biggest passion is stories. “The stories and jokes we tell can change lives and change moods,” he said. “Stories have the power to move people in ways that other things can’t. From movies to video games to the stories our grandparents tell us, they are everywhere.”
His biggest role model is former U.S. President Barack Obama. “The way he can command a room and ensure peace is admirable,” he said.
His favorite teacher at BHS is Coach Caudill, or as Daniel also referred to him, his superhero identity Captain Caudy. He said he appreciates him for his dad jokes, black coffee, and statistical knowledge.
BHS Assistant Principal Dr. John Calton said of Daniel, “Jason Daniel is one of the most positive students at BHS and he is a true joy to be around every day. Through his high school years, he has grown into a responsible, dedicated student, who is a good friend to others. His only absences this year were the days he was exempt from all of his first semester exams because he had straight A’s and perfect attendance. I am so proud of his friendliness, achievements, and commitment to his classmates and responsibilities.”
After graduating from BHS, Daniel plans to attend Belmont University for Business Administration. One day, he hopes to open his own entertainment company.
