Lillye Perez, daughter of Jenifer and David Perez, is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the lacrosse team and plays defense. Outside of lacrosse, she also plays soccer. In her down time, she said she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Perez said her biggest highlight in soccer was beating Harpeth Hall, who is the No. 1 team in the state.
She started playing lacrosse due to the influence of her family. “Everyone in my family played and I wanted to be able to experience why they loved lacrosse so much,” she said.
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said, “Just knowing that I’m making myself improve and getting ready to take on one game at a time.”
RHS Chemistry Teacher Joan Obot said of Perez, “Lillye is a hard working student who is dedicated to her academic success. She is very organized and works well with her peers. She is actively engaged and attentive, which I appreciate so much!”
One of Perez’s biggest role models is her mother, Jenifer. “She is always helping everyone around her and does everything she can,” Perez said.
As she is only a sophomore, Perez is still currently undecided about her collegiate plans. However, she said she would love to be able to play lacrosse in college.
