Stuff the Bus school supply giveaway events are Saturday; volunteers still needed

The annual Stuff the Bus school supply donation drive, which provides backpacks loaded with school supplies to families in need throughout Williamson County, concludes this Saturday with backpack distribution events in Bethesda, Fairview and Franklin.

The United Way of Williamson County still is collecting school supply donations, and through Friday will be getting the backpacks ready with an army of volunteers at Harpeth Christian Church in Franklin.

Volunteers still are needed both for backpack stuffing and for work at the distribution events, which will include bounce houses (staffed by volunteers) for the children attending.

Backpacks will be distributed on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the following times and locations:

  • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Fairview Middle School, 7200 Cumberland Dr., Fairview

  • 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.  Liberty Elementary School grounds, 600 Liberty Pike, Franklin
  • 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Bethesda United Methodist Church, 4812 Bethesda Rd., Thompson’s Station

School supply donations may be dropped off at the United Way office, 209 Gothic Court, Suite 107 in Franklin. For more information, contact Debby Rainey at or 615-771-2312, ext. 13.

Backpack stuffing continues through Friday at Harpeth Christian Church, 1101 Gardner Drive, Franklin, TN 37064 (southeast corner of Lewisburg Pike and Mack Hatcher).

To volunteer, fill out the online form and the Volunteer Waiver and United Way of Williamson County will contact you to confirm your shift.
