Summertown "eco-village" presents Market Day Under the Dome

It seems like spring has been slow coming this year, but now it’s time to get out of the house and celebrate the warm days ahead.

Residents of The Farm Community in Summertown, Tennessee, are suggesting a drive in the country for the first Market Day Under the Dome, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on April 21, 2018.

At The Farm Market Day, vendors will be there selling spring plants, flowers, fresh vegetables, baked goods, arts and crafts, and a whole lot more. Snacks, drinks, and lunches are available at The Farm Store next to the Dome.

Visitors may sip some lemonade made with real lemons. Devour a divine fresh baked muffin. Take home some plants for the garden.

The Market is in the center of The Farm Community, world renowned as an Ecovillage and an example of sustainable living at the junction of Maury, Lawrence, and Lewis Counties, about 30 miles south of Columbia, 15 miles northwest of Lawrenceburg, and 15 miles east from Hohenwald. Those driving in from north, south and east will take Hwy. 43 to Summertown, turning west on to Hwy. 20 (watch for the Shell Station and Sonic Drive-In). The Farm is located about 5 miles down Hwy. 20. Look for The Farm sign on the corner, a right turn on to Drakes Lane, and then watch for another sign where you turn right on to Walker Road. Drive a quarter mile to The Farm entrance and Welcome Center, then 2 miles down Farm Road to the Market under the dome.

The Farm Market is directly adjacent to The Farm Store, which offers lunch and gift items, including The Farm’s world renowned colorful tie dye t-shirts.

The Farm Market Day is held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the third Saturday of the month April through October. Vendors set up under the huge covered dome, with a wide variety of items for sale, from local Amish and home grown vegetables, to baked goods, jewelry and crafts, high quality yard sale items and more. Additional vendors are welcome, with a 5% sales fee collected at the end of the day by the Market organizers.
