Summit High School will be looking for two new basketball coaches to lead its programs.
The county announced Tuesday morning that boys coach Josh Goodwin and girls coach Kari Goodwin would be leaving the school to pursue other career opportunities.
“Summit High School and WCS are grateful for their time spent with the basketball programs and the students at Summit High School,” Williamson County athletic director Dr. Jeremy Qualls said in the release.
“A search for their replacements will begin immediately.”
The couple has been in the preps scene for quite some time, with Josh having coached both the girls and boys Summit teams in his time there, and Kari a former head coach of the Franklin Lady Rebels.
Both played collegiate ball, with the former a member of Rick Byrd’s Belmont Bruins and the latter an alum of Freed-Hardeman.
The Spartans went 13-13 this past season and made a push into the region tournament. They also played state contenders Franklin close in four contests despite fielding a younger team that consists of standout twins Destin and Keaton Wade and Konata Werts.
The Lady Spartans went 13-11 this season and exited in district tourney play.
