Five days after picking up a petition to run for Brentwood’s Board of Commissioners on Wednesday Jan. 2, Susannah Macmillan has returned her petition with the required 50 signatures.
On the day she picked up her petition, Macmillan was met at the Williamson County Election commission by a large group of family members, friends and supporters. Now, the election commission office confirms that, so far, she is the first of six who have already picked up a petition to return one completed.
Macmillan is a first-time candidate for the role of city commissioner. In an interview with Home Page, Macmillan said she has big plans to help Brentwood maintain its “neighborhood feel” and to ensure the Williamson County schools and its students continue to thrive.
Candidates must return filled out petitions to the election commission office by Thursday, Feb, 21 at noon.
The Williamson County Election Commission office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located at 1320 W Main Street in Franklin.
