Thefts top Thanksgiving week crime report in Brentwood

Four burglaries in east Brentwood, including two in the gated Governor’s Club, were reported during Thanksgiving week, according to the Brentwood Police weekly crime report.

In each of the intrusions, entry was made through a back door or window. Jewelry was taken in three of the four thefts, and nothing was taken in the fourth, where a burglar alarm was triggered. A newer model Burgundy colored Honda Civic was seen in the Nov. 25 incident, on Exton Lane east of the Jones Parkway roundabout.

Jewelry also was the target two of four thefts reported Thanksgiving week on the opposite side of I-65, including a theft during a private showing at a Church Street jewelry store, and jewelry taken from a master bedroom in a house on High Lea Road. Health care workers are suspected in the latter theft, and a suspect has been identified in the other incident.

There are no suspects in the theft of a purse taken from the women’s locker room at the Maryland Farms YMCA. But an arrest was made after the seller of an iPhone met a prospective buyer at the Brentwood Library who took the phone and ran away without paying.
