A female clerk at the Hyatt Place hotel near Brentwood was sexually assaulted yesterday during an armed robbery.

According to the Metro Nashville Police, two men wearing black clothing and holding guns entered the hotel lobby just after 3 p.m., their faces covered.

Tony Gooch, 26

After the clerks complied with a demand for money from the register, police say one of the robbers held one of the victims at gunpoint while the other robber sexually assaulted the second clerk.

Police say the men then fled the property on foot to a nearby apartment complex and were seen leaving in an orange Ford Mustang.

Officers from the Midtown Hills Precinct quickly responded, made it on the scene and relayed the description of the car to other city officers.

North Precinct Officers Justin Vaughn and Bryan Musgrave followed the Mustang as it exited the interstate at Rosa Parks Boulevard and continued into the Metro Center area.

Police say the vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of Wise Burger. Its two occupants, Louis Steele, 25, and Tony Gooch, 26, were then detained.

Victims later picked out both men during show-ups.

Police say Steele is being charged with aggravated rape, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.  Gooch is being charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
