UpStander 5K on Aug. 5 will raise money for anti-bullying programs

The Friend Foundation, a Spring Hill-based nonprofit dedicated to the fight against the bullying of children is presenting the inaugural UpStander 5K run on Aug. 5 at Crockett Park in Brentwood.

All proceeds go towards our “Friends to the Rescue” initiative that provides support to local schools to help prevent and stop bullying.

The USATF Certified Course takes place within Crockett Park.

There will be prizes for Overall Male & Female, Age Groups and Corporate Team Awards. Race shirts will be available to all who register. Register early at UpStander5k.com.

Day-of registration opens at 7 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Crockett Park is at 1500 Volunteer Pkwy., Brentwood, TN 37027.

An “upstander” is someone who, rather than remain a bystander, stands up in defense of someone who is the victim of bullying.

Jim and Bethany Torino started The Friend Foundation after their son experienced bullying, and another son was threatened for standing up for a bullying victim.
