More Than Sad, a film about depression in teenagers, will lead off a suicide prevention program on Apr. 21 at Centennial High School in Franklin.
More Than Sad is produced by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Break Thru films. This film is intended for parents and honestly addresses depression and mental health conditions in teenagers.
The film is 25 minutes long, and an hour-long presentation will follow featuring Michelle Bauer, Tennessee State Suicide Prevention Program Manager at The Army National Guard, B.A. in Psychology, Northern Kentucky University; Middle-TN Chapter of AFSP Board of Directors. There also will be time for questions and answers. Bauer will discuss the warning signs of suicide and the steps parents can take to get help for at-risk children.
The event is free and is open to all parents of high school students in Williamson County.
