Reader Janine Hopkins asks: I’ve always wondered who owned the the very large piece of property at the SE cornor of Sunset and Concord Road and what (if any) plans they had for it.  I know at one time they tried to put a grocery store there and it was fought against by the residents of Brentwood but I was just curious.

Also, do you know if there is a plan to put bike trails along Concord Road between Sunset and Crockett as part of the Concord Road widening project?

Janine, we took your question to Jeff Dobson, the city’s Planning Director, who said that according to the Property Assessor, the property located in the SE quadrant of Sunset and Concord Roads is owned by William J. Edmondson. “No development plans have been approved by the city for the property,” he reports.

As for the bike lanes, yes, they are included as part of the on-going improvements along Concord Road.
