A reader emailed BHP this week curious about some preliminary construction work happening at the bend of Concord Road and Bluff Road, where black fencing had gone up around small piles of dirt and gravel.

We checked in with Jeff Dobson, director of Brentwood’s Planning and Codes Department, and he told BHP that it was early utility work and road pavement for a new Owl Creek subdivision, located in the southwest quadrant of the Waller Road and Concord Road intersection.

The subdivision was approved by the city’s planning commission in 2012, and developers have been doing preliminary work for several months around Waller Road. Now that the work is getting closer to Concord Road, drivers are starting to notice.

In February of this year, the planning commission approved initial master planning for the open space residential development (OSRD), an 77.44-acre property hosting 76 lots and 51 acres of open space.
