WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? No WCS rezonings planned next school year

In Williamson County Schools’ current In Focus newsletter, a parent asked:

My child is leaving Lipscomb and will be going to Brentwood Middle School next year.  When will we know if there will be any rezoning from Brentwood Middle to Woodland and Brentwood High to Ravenwood (or other schools)?  Is there a certain year that a rezoning is planned to occur?

Good question. What’s up with that? Here’s how the district replied:

We are not planning rezoning for the upcoming school year.  Next year will be our third school year since our county-wide rezoning.  We had anticipated that, with continued growth in our community, that rezoning should serve us three years.  At this time, there is no date established for the next rezoning.

The School Board is expected to determine any open zoned schools for 2013-14 at its March meeting.
